World's Largest Menorah

Starting December 24 at Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn celebrate the lighting of the world's largest menorah! It's 32 feet high and weighs 4,000 pounds! A candle will be lit each night of the holiday starting on December 24 at 6pm and will continue every day through December 31. Celebrations will also include music and hot latkes. View the schedule to see what time it will be lit each night. If you can't make it to Brooklyn, head over the Grand Army Plaza in Manhattan (59th and Fifth) to see the menorah there. Happy Hanukkah!

Jewish Film Festival

The annual Jewish Film Festival will be back starting January 13 and continuing through January 26. The films focus on the Jewish experience both here and abroad. Some of the films in years past have gone on to national theaters and even to Academy Award nominations. Tickets are $14 per person per film and the schedule is available online. Enjoy!

Celebrate San Gennaro--the Patron Saint of Naples--and all things Italian in Little Italy starting today and lasting until September 20. This annual feast started as a 1 day celebration on September 19, 1926 and has grown into an 11 day event. Although it is primarily a religious celebration, there is also a party atmosphere where you can enjoy rides, games, food, live music, and more. Don't miss the annual cannoli eating contest and the religious procession and Mass on the 19th.

TONIGHT! Procession of Ghouls at Saint John the Divine

Truly an "only in New York" event, the Halloween Extravaganza and Procession of the Ghouls at St. John The Divine (Amsterdam Ave @ 112th St) is mezmorizing, beautiful and fun!

The evening begins with a silent horror film, accompanied of course by haunting organ music, followed by a gorgeously ghastly procession of ghosts and ghouls.

Date and Showtimes: Friday, October 25, 2013 at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Prices: $20 for general admission. For tickets call 1-866-811-4111. Although the event often sells out, any remaining tickets will be on sale at the cathedral one hour before showtime.
