The Cherry Blossoms are in Bloom!

April 25, 2017

And you don't even have to go to all the way to Japan to see them! Instead, take a mosey over to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens and see them there. This year, the flowers will be blossoming from late April through mid-May, and according to the Cherrywatch feature on the Gardens' website, they are currently in peak bloom! These gorgeous pink trees are a stunning spring site, and are not something to be missed.

If you're looking for a truly unique event, the Gardens are also holding a Sakura Matsuri festival this Saturday and Sunday (April 29 & 30) from 10 a.m.–6 p.m. The festival has over 60 events and performances that celebrate traditional and contemporary Japanese culture– all of which revolve around the blossoms. Tickets are $30 per person and can be purchased on their website. The festival's page also has a full list of performances for both Saturday and Sunday, which include everything from fierce samurai performances, to elegant Kabuki dances.

Don't miss your chance to see this spectacular sight!
