Break Out Your Green Clothing and Celebrate St. Patrick's Day!

March 13, 2017

In just a few days we'll all be seeing green! It's that time of the year again– St. Patrick's Day is this Friday, March 17. Every year since 1762, New York City has hosted what is boasted to be the largest and oldest parade of its kind. It garners over 150,000 marchers and 2 million spectators each year and is held in honor of St. Patrick, the Patron Saint of Ireland and of the Archdiocese of New York. Starting at 11 am at 44th Street, the parade route continues up Fifth Avenue to 79th Street. It finishes around 5:00 pm at the American Irish Historical Society at East 80th Street. Looking for more information? Visit the organization's website here to read their FAQs, blog, and history. Complete with marching bands, bagpipers, and revelers, it is sure to be a good time. So break out those green clothes and celebrate along Fifth Avenue!
