Ladies, (and gents) get yourselves ready for fleet week this year May 23-30! Besides all the cute sailors running around NYC, fleet week includes military demonstrations, and public visitation to many of the ships participating. It's back! The 39th Annual 9th Avenue International Food Festival on May 19th and 20th from 12pm-5pm on 9th Avenue between 42nd and 57th Streets. Try foods from different countries and also check out some of the unique arts and crafts for sale. This year the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic will take place at Liberty State Park on June 2.Tickets are $25 and include round trip ferry transportation from Manhattan or shuttle service from the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail. The Hudson River Park Trust has announced their free movies this summer. Wednesdays will be movies more suited for the older and adult crowd, like Bridesmaids and Crazy, Stupid Love, while Friday nights will feature movies for children, like Kung Fu Panda 2 and Puss in Boots. Movies start around 8:30pm on Wednesdays at the Pier 63 lawn and on Fridays at the Pier 46 Lawn. Popcorn will be provided for free. So, if you're here in July and August, you don't want to miss out on this!
