It's that time of year again, restaurant week is approaching. This year's winter restaurant week will run from January 16-February 10. Same deal as before, $24.07 for a three course lunch, and $35 for a three course dinner. Though the list of participating restaurants has not been released yet, more than 300 restaurants will be participating this year! Reservations open on January 4, so don't miss out!
Starting December 20 at Grand Army Plaza (Fifth Avenue & 59th St) celebrate the lighting of the world's largest menorah! It's 32 feet high and weighs 4,000 pounds! A candle will be lit each night of the holiday starting on December 20 at 5:30pm (Sunday-Thurs), 3:30pm Friday and 8:30pm Saturday.
Another cool thing to see during the holidays is the origami tree at the Museum of Natural History. It's much more impressive than the picture on the left. This year's tree decorations pay tribute to some of the largest animals and objects found throughout the museum. The tree will be up until January 2, 2012.
Take the kids to the NY Botanical Garden until January 16 to watch model trains pass by tiny replicas of NYC landmarks and bridges, all made out of plant parts! See the train pass by the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, and other famous landmarks! Visit the official website for more information.
