It's finally beach weather and with perfect timing! Public beaches open this Saturday until Labor Day in September. Want to go surfing? Try Rockaway Beach between 67-69 Streets and 87-92 Streets. Lifeguards will be on duty at the beaches daily from 10am-6pm. So get the sun screen and towels and get ready for summer!!
On June 18, 88 street pianos will pop-up in New York City. They will be free to play through July 2, so if you're looking for a chance to play and have fun, or maybe even show off your skills, this is a great opportunity! Here is a map of where the pianos will be located.
We hope you're not sick of hearing about all the FREE events in NYC this summer, because there are lots! The Hudson River Park Trust has announced their free movies this summer. Wednesdays will be movies more suited for the older and adult crowd, like The Social Network and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, while Friday nights will feature movies for children, like Tangled and The Princess Bride. Movies start around 8:30pm and popcorn will be provided for free. So, if you're here in July and August, you don't want to miss out on this!

We've already mentioned TODAY's free summer concerts, but maybe you want to see different artists perform for free on Friday mornings. Good Morning America summer concerts start on May 27, kicking it off with Lady Gaga! This one will require tickets, but they are free. The rest of them will be on Fridays from 7-9am at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park. Other artists that will be performing are The Goo-Goo Dolls, Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, all top 11 American Idol contestants and many more! One of the many reasons why NYC is so great in the summer!
The 38th Annual 9th Avenue International Food Festival is taking place this weekend! May 14 and 15 on 9th Avenue from 42nd to 57th Streets come try food from all over the world. For more information on visit the official website.
The TODAY Toyota Concert Series will kick off on May 27 with a performance by Rihanna at Rockefeller Center. Journey, Enrique Iglesias and Maroon 5 will be among other artists performing during the morning show's concert series. For a full schedule and more details, visit the official website.
The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum will offer free movies on the flight deck this summer, starting Friday, May 27. The doors will open at 7:30pm and films will begin at sunset. Here is the schedule:

So get your blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets and head on over to 12th Avenue & 46th Street to the Intrepid on those nights for a great, FREE time!
Interested in some free music from a band you've actually heard of? On June 9 at 7:30pm the Black Eyes Peas will be holding a free concert in Central Park on the Great Lawn. Tickets are required and 54,000 will be given away for free at random. Visit the website to sign up in mid-May. There are also VIP tickets available for $500-$2500, and all proceeds from the concert will go to the Robin Hood Foundation to help fight poverty. So check it out for a good time and a good cause!
