Fourth of July in New York City!

Apple core hotels -- fireworks In honor of the 4th of July this Saturday, the city has two events that honor Independence Day with a New York twist.  Early in the day, head to Coney Island to watch the annual Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest. Then, once the sun has gone down, make your way to the Hudson River to witness the Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks.  Though the fireworks are usually on the East River, they're over the Hudson this year to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson's exploration of the river.
