Remember that when you come to New York, some of you may suffer from a jet lag! To enjoy New York without being tired, be prepared. For instance, when you come from Paris to NY, you win 6 hours and it is better for you not to sleep in the plane (with a 6-hour flight, you arrive at the same time that the time you left in Paris). At a hotel, the bellman is usually tipped $1 per bag, the maids are tipped $1 per day minimum, and room service usually receive 12-15% if the tips is not already included to the check. There is a flat fare from JFK Airport to anywhere in Manhattan. All trips from JFK Airport to the first destination in Manhattan are $45 (plus tolls and optional tip). There is no metered fare or $1 surcharge at any time for these trips. If passengers request multiple detinations within Manhattan, the fare is $45 plus tolls to the first passengers destination. Thereafter, the meter will be engaged and a new trip and fare occurs. The fare from Manhattan to JFK is the amount indicated on the meter.

Going to a restaurant with friends and being charged 20% of tips? No way!!!!! According to the Department of Consumers Affairs, it cannot exceed 15%! Here are some rules that restaurants have to abide to: the fee must be listed on the menu in 10-point type or larger; the fee can only apply to groups of 8 or more; the fee cannot exceed 15 percent. If you feel that you were unfairly charges, you can file a complaint online.
